Betway Extends in Germany with Hannover 96 Deal

Table of Contents

Having announced a new betting partnership contract with Fortuna Dusseldorf at the start of this week, Betway have looked to extend their presence in Germany by getting on board with fellow Bundesliga side Hannover 96.

It marks the continuation of a busy period for the sportsbook and casino operator who have spent the summer lining up sponsor deals with football teams across Europe while building out their presence in the eSports arena at the same time.

Three Year Deal

The latest announcement confirms Betway as the official betting partner for Hannover 96 in an arrangement which begins immediately and will run for three years to the end of the 2021-22 domestic season.

During that period, Betway will enjoy a visible presence in and around Hannover’s HDI Arena where close on 50,000 spectators assemble for home games across the campaign. Additional marketing opportunities will come from social media and other digital channels as Betway start to build their brand in front of Die Roten supporters.

The funds will provide valuable assistance as Hannover 96 look to cement their place in the Bundesliga for many years to come but it’s a balanced deal and one that has been welcomed on all sides.

Anthony Werkman

In welcoming the deal, Betway’s Anthony Werkman said:

The German market is very important to Betway, so I’m delighted to announce our second deal of the summer with a Bundesliga club.

Hannover 96 is an established first league team and they’re another exciting side to be involved with. We’re looking forward to the coming seasons in what will hopefully work out to be a great partnership for the club, the fans and us.”

Replying on behalf of the football club, Hannover 96’s CEO Martin Kind added:

We really appreciate that we could convince Betway to become our betting partner. We are looking forward to a high-performing partnership with an innovative output.

Progression

Hannover 96 finished in 13th place at the end of the 2017/18 season and are generally seen as a mid-table side at best. The minimum aim for the club and their manager Andre Breitenreiter would be to maintain their Bundesliga 1 status but ideally they want to be pushing beyond that and looking to challenge for the Europa League places.

Any side wants to improve but it takes significant funding to pull off the kind of transfers that allows a team to compete at the top level of German football. Hannover currently have a competent squad but there is perhaps a lack of household names and international quality running through the starting XI.

After consolidation, Breitenreiter will want to achieve greater things and that’s why the funds generated from this Betway deal will be welcomed by the manager and by all those involved in strengthening the squad.

For Betway, this is another significant contract as they build their brand in Germany and in Europe as a whole so it’s going to be a busy three years for all parties.
