Unibet Review

Unibet have been around in their own right for many years now but for some UK players, they may have only just come to our attention. One of the reasons for this is that Unibet effectively took over the UK operations of the more established Stan James set up in 2017.

Now we have a strong sportsbook with all of the best aspects of both outlets but, if you have never had an account with Unibet and weren’t switched across when Stan James closed, why should you add them to your own gambling portfolio?

Sporting Markets and Odds Value

Unibet started life as a Scandinavian company and they still offer markets for lots of sports that remain popular in that region. They have, however, continued to expand that range and now list options for events that are popular all over the world.

Here is a current list of available sports from Unibet:

Aussie Rules Football, Rugby League, Rugby Union, Soccer, Basketball, Baseball, Tennis, Cricket, UFC / MMA, American Football, Athletics, Badminton, Beach Volleyball, Boxing, Chess, Cycling, Darts, Gaelic Sports, Golf, Handball, Horse Racing, Ice Hockey, Motorsports, Pesapallo, Snooker, Surfing, Volleyball, Water Polo, Winter Sports and WWE.

Like all good bookies, Unibet have recognised the growing potential of eSports and there is a good choice of markets in this respect.

As for their prices, this particular bookmaker have been up on the odds comparison sites for some time and we can see that they are strong for most sports but particularly for side markets where they are frequently out on their own with the highest industry numbers.

Banking

Unibet are one of a select handful of bookmakers who accept Paypal as a means of funding and that is a big bonus for them and for their users. This is the most popular of all eWallets and is used extensively in the UK but if you like these methods then you can also deposit and withdraw using Skrill and PaySafe.

Of course, the preference for most of us is to use debit cards and all of the main providers are here and you can also fund using bank transfers.

Customer Service

If there is one area that we would like to see improve it’s over at the help desk which is a little hard to locate. Click on the button marked Help Centre and this provides a list of FAQs and if this doesn’t answer your question, you are invited to talk to the Unibet player community.

There is an email and the support staff are very responsive but those help options could be more extensive and easier to find from the home page.

Conclusion

The lack of help options is a very small downside to the experience at Unibet which is very positive overall. There is a good mix of choice and value here with excellent odds in an extensive set of markets and there are frequent promotions to take advantage of.

In general, the site is easy to navigate and funding is quick and straightforward so there’s every reason for UK bettors to welcome Unibet and to add them to your own list of sportsbooks.

Pros (+)

  • There’s always a good set of promotions for customers at Unibet
  • Very wide set of sports markets including some of the highest odds for certain sports
  • Live streaming and comprehensive stats services are available

Cons

  • Help facilities could be improved with more options and the existing customer support can be hard to locate.
