PWR.bet Sport Review

As 2018 drew to a close we had the newest bookmaker on the scene as PWR.bet opened its doors to punters from the United Kingdom. This is a company with a keen focus on the types of things that British bettors will like so it’s worth taking a closer look at the operation and seeing what kind of benefits are available.

Here’s what we found when we took a closer look at the PWR.bet set up in this review.

Sporting Markets and Odds Value

These are the sporting markets available at the time of launch in 2018.

Football, Tennis, Basketball, Horse Racing, Fighting (Boxing Etc), American Football, Athletics, Badminton, Bandy, Beach Volleyball, Biathlon, Cricket, Cycling, Darts, eSports, Floorball, Futsal, Gaelic Football, Golf, Handball, Hurling, Ice Hockey, Motor Racing, Rugby League, Rugby Union, Snooker, Specials, Table Tennis, AFL, Baseball and Volleyball.

Eagle eyed readers will note the inclusion of horse racing on the list and that will be of interest to new customers from the United Kingdom. Greyhound racing is missing and that’s a little surprising but all of the popular markets are here along with a healthy mix of niche events too.

Some additional specials from politics (mostly from the United Kingdom and the United States) and reality TV are also thrown in and for those who like to get involved with virtual events, a set of eSports betting is also quoted.

Banking

It’s common for new bookmakers to start life with a small set of funding options but happily this isn’t the case at PWR.bet. Players can deposit to and withdraw from their account using all the major debit cards but unlike other new operators, you can also get involved using Skrill, Neteller, Trustly and PaySafeCard.

Transactions are free and instant and please note that there is a minimum withdrawal set at £10.00.

Customer Service

The live chat button can be a little hard to find at first but you’ll remember where to find it once it’s been located in the bottom right hand corner of the home page. The live chat is always open and it’s quick to respond which is good news as this is really the only way to get in touch.

There is a customer support email and while there are some basic FAQs, most will head for live chat. It would be good to see more options in the future but for now, this is a good start.

Does PWR Bet Enable Mobile Betting?

Bettors from all over the world like to have the flexibility that comes with mobile betting. That point is especially true in the live markets but whether you prefer in play or ante post, we all like to have mobile enabled options at times.

Players can certainly access these opportunities at PWR Bet sports and it can be done in one of two ways. Firstly, if you’re not a regular user of the live betting platform then you could just access the mobile site in your browser. It’s quick to load and easy to navigate around and you can always bookmark it for future use.

Alternatively, if you are likely to come back to live betting over time, the app would be your better option. Rather than opening your browser every time you want to make a bet, you can just click on the app and away you go. All you need to kick things off is to perform a very swift download and while there are different options depending on which device you use, you should still be up and running within a couple of minutes.

Firstly, if you have an iOS device then it’s really simple to get started with PWR Bet sports on your iPhone. Simply go to the iTunes store, search for PWRBet and the result will be returned instantly.

Once you’ve found the correct app, click on the get button and the PWR Bet app will appear on your screen within a matter of seconds.

If you have an Android device, the process works a little differently but it should still be very swift. The issue here is that Google are famously not very comfortable with betting apps but there is an easy way to get around this.

Start by going to the PWR.Bet sportsbook in your browser. Click on the link and you will see a further link which invites you to download the app. Do this and it will be installed onto your screen.

While there are two very different ways in which to download this app, the processes are both very quick and they are also free. You can use your regular PWR Bet login details and you can also register via this method and take advantage of the welcome bonus offer if you wish.

Mobile App Requirements

It’s a positive part of the PWR Bet review so far and now we need to talk about system requirements. Anyone who develops a new app would recommend that you update your phone regularly as soon as a software update is launched but there are certain minimums that you will need.

In regards to Android users at PWRBet, you will need to have version 4.0 at least. Anything less than this will mean that the app will be unusable so please bear this in mind before you attempt to download. IOS users, meanwhile, will require version 8.00 or newer. Remember to update whenever you can in order to keep that app working to its full potential.

In summary, if you bet on mobile then we suggest using the app whenever you possibly can. If you have an old software version or a phone that’s running out of memory then the mobile website is an adequate substitute but the app is your best option here.

FAQs about PWR Bet

What Currencies does PWR Bet Accept?

This is a question that often gets overlooked but as part of our PWR.bet review, it’s important that we consider it in closer detail. Any operator that wants to attract players from all over the world should be flexible in its approach and that includes offering as many currency options as possible.

There are a number of benefits to this: Firstly, players should feel more comfortable when seeing their own currency available within the PWR bet sports platform. When making a bet, account holders know exactly what they are putting down and what the potential rewards and losses are. It is, of course, possible to carry out currency conversions but nobody wants to be doing this on a constant basis. In a sense, therefore, the ability to play in your own currency can even be linked to the ongoing subject of responsible gambling because customers need to know what’s at stake.

So, moving back to the original question in this PWR bet review, exactly what currencies are accepted here? Firstly, you may find that wherever you are in the world, PWR bet will default to Euros. They are a new bookmaker with a focus on mainland Europe so that really should be no surprise.

If you are in the United Kingdom and the PWR Bet bookmaker is open, then you may find that the system will change the currency default to GBP. If this doesn’t happen automatically, players should be able to switch to sterling with just a click on the drop down menu.

Those are the two most popular currency options for the majority of sportsbooks, but are there any alternatives? There are, in fact, plenty of other options available depending on where you happen to be in the world.

In largely alphabetical order, players can access their PWR Bet sports account with Argentinian Pesos, Brazilian Real, Canadian Dollars, Chilean Pesos, Chinese Yuan, South Korean Won, Mexican Pesos, Norwegian Krone, Swedish Krona, US Dollars and Japanese Yen. Added to that list are our original two currencies – Euros and GBP.

That’s a seriously good list and another reason why we think this PWR bet review is such a positive. Players from all over the world are accommodated here and their experience is made so much more flexible thanks to the fact that PWR Bet allow them to play in their own currency.

Please bear in mind, however that there are some restricted countries, too. You may find those in the list of terms and conditions.

Watch out for the registration process which we will underline in a moment – it’s at this point that you should select your currency preference although it can be switched at a later date.

To conclude this section of our PWR.bet review, we think this is a very comprehensive list with players from all of the main betting countries being picked up by this operator. The most common options – GBP, EUR and United States Dollars – are here as you would expect but there are plenty of obscure additions to include on the overall list.

How Should I Activate and Verify my PWRBet Account?

To answer this question, we’ll firstly need to walk you through the sign up process but don’t worry as it’s very quick and will only take up a few minutes of your time.

To kick things off, simply head across from the link and you will find, at the top right hand corner of the PWR bet sports page, a big yellow button marked ‘register’. Click on this and you will find a set of three very short forms to complete.

The first of these is the quickest with just a name, email address and password to complete. At the next stage, you will be asked to go into things in greater detail and this involves inputting your physical address and a date of birth.

On the final page, prospective customers will be asked to set their account preferences and whether they want to receive any marketing information from PWR bet. Fill those details in and click on submit.

The process doesn’t ask for a verification at this stage but in all probability, you would be asked to do this further down the line. Some bookmakers will ask for verification documents when you sign up for a new account while others will wait until you make a minimum withdrawal at least before checking that you are who you say you are and PWR bet seem to fall into the second category.

Our advice is to get this out of the way sooner rather than later. It’s easy to contact customer services via any of the methods that we have listed in this PWR bet review. Talk to them about verification and they will advise you as to what documents are required but we expect that you will be asked to provide a clear scan of your passport and a utility bill which will confirm your physical address.

Once that has been done, you should expect to be able to withdraw any winnings from your account without any form of delay.

In regards to the other part of this question regarding activation, this is very simple. Once the registration process is complete, you should receive an email in your account and a click on the link will be enough to confirm that.

Technically, your PWR bet sports account is now active but you will obviously need to add some funds in order to cover your opening bets and make a deposit. This is particularly important if you intend to take up any bonus offer that may be listed as it’s often the case that there is a time limit in place limiting the amount of days that you have before it expires. Terms and conditions should be checked in full in relation to this point but 30 days is a common figure.

You should also check those ts and cs to clarify whether certain funding options are excluded from any welcome bonus that happens to be applicable. Usually, this is restricted to bank cards only but the rules will clarify this.

Once fully funded and verified, you now use your PWR Bet account to the full and enjoy everything that this sportsbook has to offer.

Conclusion

Some sportsbooks come on line for the first time and they seem to be a work in progress but that isn’t quite the case with PWR.bet. Customers would like to see some offers and promotions come in before too long but for now, their absence is more than compensated for by regularly competitive odds which suggest this is a good place to hang out in the long term.

The choice of bet markets is a good one too and already we have a wide set of funding options which can compare with any other newly established bookie. Aside from the introduction of offers and promotions, we’d also like to see some more help options coming along besides live chat, but this is a great start and another new bookmaker that bettors from the United Kingdom should be looking to add to their list.

Pros (+)

  • Competitive prices across all sports
  • Good range of sporting markets including horse racing
  • Wide choice of funding options including cards and a selection of eWallets

Cons (-)

  • Help facilities need expanding in the future to include email address and / or online forms besides live chat
