Pari Mutuel Expands into Daily Fantasy Sports
Table of Contents
All the signs seem to suggest that we are set for a sustained period of growth in the fantasy sports sector. For many years, the two main players in this part of the industry have been DraftKings and FanDuel and these two operators have both been raising their profile in recent weeks with moves into general sports betting while a number of corporate sponsorship deals have also been announced.
At the same time, we are starting to see new players get behind this side of the industry and in the latest move, the French giant Pari Mutuel Urbain has announced its intention to get involved in Daily Fantasy Sports.
Key Partnership
Pari Mutuel Urbain (PMU) has been providing a sportsbook platform for some time in partnership with Sportnco and that joint operation has continued into the fantasy sports realm. Daily fantasy games have already been made available as the operator recognises a key growth area for betting as a whole.
The partnership between operator and sportsbook software provider has been in place since 2014 and at the heart of the relationship is creativity and innovation which the two sides have looked to build upon with this new move.
Satisfaction
PMU have a long history in bringing innovative products to their players and we’re happy to launch our DFS product with Sportnco right on time for the World Cup.
said PMU’s head of marketing Samuel Loiseau.
Player satisfaction remains at the very core of our strategy, and this awaited addition makes our online Sports product the most comprehensive in France.
In response, Sportnco’s Chief Operating Officer Kevin Brocard added:
We’re delighted to welcome a pari-mutuel specialist in our DFS common pool and strengthen our partnership with PMU. Our operating model is built around high volumes, and this is a significant step up in that direction.
We’re very ambitious with this product and we’re 100% focused on delivering the best DFS solution to the market.
New Market Players
The announcement has also been timed to coincide with the World Cup in Russia so it’s a perfect time to take advantage of arguably the biggest sporting event on the planet. As the name suggests, Daily Fantasy Sports offers chances to get involved with games on a rolling 24 hour basis and for players to pick their teams and do battle against the odds to win.
It’s also very interesting to see a European operator get behind this sector of the industry and that’s further evidence that this is a big growth area that is set to explode in the way that eSports did and continues to do so in the modern day.
All the signs are very encouraging and this latest announcement from Pari Mutuel Urbain and Sportnco is further evidence of the upward trend that Fantasy Sports is set to enjoy. If you have yet to get involved and want to know what all the fuss is about, the new PMU platform offers a good place to start.
