MansionBet Gets Behind Pool’s Landmark Event

Sports sponsorship is really starting to filter down from the mainstream events, and those that are already cash rich due to TV deals, and into competitions and tournaments that need it most.

In recent days, we’ve seen Asian betting firm ManBetX get behind two of the smaller ranking events in snooker and now it’s the turn of pool to benefit from the iGaming companies.

Quarter Centenary

The latest news confirms that casino and sportsbook operator MansionBet has agreed to sponsor the World Pool Masters which takes place in Gibraltar across the first weekend in March.

It’s a landmark occasion for the sport which celebrates the 25th year of this event in 2018 and a special occasion requires some important backing for the quarter centenary of the World Pool Masters.

Natural Fit

In an announcement heralding the news, Karel Manasco, CEO of Mansion, said:

We are always looking at platforms for brand promotion, and as a Gibraltar based company, the location combined with the international exposure of this popular event, made our title sponsorship of the World Pool Masters a natural fit.

In reply, Barry Hearn, Chairman of Matchroom Sport, added:

We are delighted to have MansionBet on board as title sponsor of pool’s biggest invitational event.

We are celebrating the silver jubilee of this magnificent tournament and as such the field is packed with some of the biggest names in pool, all great champions in their own right.

Exposure

Barry Hearn went on to add that the event was being covered live by Sky Sports TV in the UK and that’s a big deal for the new sponsor. Pool is a growth event and it has a strong following but while the arena will be full across the three days of competition, hundreds of thousands more will be watching events unfold live from the comfort and warmth of their own home.

That’s clearly good news for MansionBet although they are, by now, a familiar name with sports fans across the globe. The betting and casino brand have already been involved with a number of shirt sponsor deals with English Premier League clubs. Tottenham Hotspur have been picked up in the past and in the 2017/18 season, MansionBet are front of shirt sponsors for South London outfit Crystal Palace.

Huge event

Pool is enjoying a strong period of growth right now thanks to some high profile tournaments such as the year-ending Mosconi Cup. The World Pool Masters is one of the biggest events on the calendar and the 2018 renewal will feature some huge names in the sport, including Francisco Bustamante and Ralf Souquet while the tournament is also known for the return of the incomparable Earl Strickland.

But, while there is a $20,000 top prize up for grabs, The Masters, and many other events in the World of Pool, need more sponsors to get involved in order for the sport to grow. Overall, it’s therefore a deal where both parties are set to gain – MansionBet get some important exposure while professional pool earns some vital funding in return.
