*This is one of the brands we used to feature on the site, however for whatever reason we no longer recommend it. We kept this old review but removed any direct links to the site and advise you to pick another brand from here.
It may be one of the newest bookmakers around but GiveMeBet certainly has an impressive pedigree. It’s part of the wider Argyll Group which already owns a number of sportsbooks so that should offer an element of trust as an opening factor.
Beyond that observation, we took a closer look at the operation at GiveMeBet to offer advice as to whether you should add them to your own list of bookies.
It all kicks off positively enough with a good set of sporting markets that should certainly appeal to UK players. It’s always good to see horse racing included at a time when others are moving away so this looks to be a good start.
Here is the full list of available sporting markets:
Football, Tennis, Horse Racing, Golf, Cricket, Rugby Union, Rugby League, American Football, Baseball, Basketball, Aussie Rules Football, Boxing, Badminton, Cycling, Darts, Gaelic Sports, Handball, Ice Hockey, MMA, Motor Racing, Netball, Snooker, Pool, Speedway, Surfing, Table Tennis, Volleyball, Water Polo.
The only point that UK customers could possibly complain about here is the absence of greyhound racing. It is, perhaps, a little strange that horses are included but dogs are not but that’s really a small factor. Overall, that’s a very good list with all main sports and plenty of niche events included.
GiveMeBet also provide a growing list of eSports plus a good selection of events from entertainment and politics.
As for odds, it will be some time before we see this operator included on price comparison sites but early indicators are strong and GiveMeBet looks to be especially competitive in those core sports of football and horse racing.
Like a number of new bookmakers, GiveMeBet has a fairly small range of payment options but it’s hoped that this will grow in the near future. As of July 2019, that list is restricted to bank transfer plus all of the main debit cards. In addition, there is Trustly and the Mobile only service Boku.
That will hopefully give everyone a chance to get involved but it would be positive to see some of the main eWallets, starting with Skrill and Neteller, included in a short space of time.
The customer support centre at GiveMeBet starts with a list of Frequently Asked Questions which are all fairly basic but they are laid out neatly and in a logical sequence. If you have time to trawl through, this is one of the better sections of its kind but there is additional assistance available.
Click on the contact button and you will find an email address. Average response time is listed at 48 hours but if you don’t have time for that, there is a live chat option. The responses here should be much quicker but at present, this isn’t a 24 hour service. For UK customers, this is open from Noon until 10pm 7 days a week.
Like a number of new sportsbooks, GiveMeBet is a work in progress to an extent but there are a number of good reasons to consider opening an account right away. There is a welcome bonus and ongoing promos but where the bookie really scores is on a wide list of sporting markets at excellent prices.
At the end of the day, that’s the element that most of us are aiming for. There could be some improvements made to the banking and customer service section but this is an excellent start and GiveMeBet are certainly worth checking out with a view to a sign up.
