France v Argentina: Join Ladbrokes for 40/1 Messi to Score

The great Lionel Messi may not have been at his best during the group stages of Russia 2018 but the Argentine striker came through to score against Nigeria when his country needed him most.

Messi, and Argentina as a whole, need to step up again when they tackle France in Kazan this Saturday because there is no room for errors in the knockout stage. It’s a team game but there is a key man in this contest and Ladbrokes have recognised his importance to the result.

40/1 Messi to Score

This is a new customer offer from Ladbrokes which lists enhanced odds of 40/1* if Lionel Messi finds the net inside 90 minutes. The service into their main striker needs to improve but the Barcelona man did open his account against Nigeria last time out and is the favourite in the equivalent market.

Existing customers at Ladbrokes can get just 13/8 on a Messi goal in 90 minutes while the current best industry price is the 21/10 offered by Unibet. If, therefore, you like the look of the numbers available under this enhanced Ladbrokes deal, here’s how it works for qualifying punters.

*18+. New customers only. Promo code ‘F50’ required. Certain deposit methods excluded. Min £/€5 on win or each-way bet excluding Tote or pools = match max £/€50 free bet. Min odds 1/2 (1.5). Bet must be made within 14 days. Free bet valid for 4 days. Free bet stake not returned. Single bets only. Free bet cannot be used on certain markets. T&Cs apply.

Ladbrokes Sign Up

This is for new customers only so, if you don’t already hold an account here you can sign up for one by heading across from this link. Only basic information is needed and the most important point to remember is that you must enter the Promo Code MESSI when prompted to do so.

This should all be validated and confirmed in around five minutes or less and at this point you will be taken to the cashier. Please add at least £5.00 using a debit or credit card and you can then move straight on and make the qualifying bet.

Betting and Getting Paid

Lionel Messi

The preliminaries will all be over very quickly and when the amount of your deposit is showing in your account, you can stake the fixed sum of £1.00 on Lionel Messi to score in 90 minutes when Argentina take on France in Kazan on Saturday June 30, 2018.

The game kicks off at 3pm UK time and you can watch it live on BBC One if you are free. Whatever happens, as long as we get a Lionel Messi goal in normal time, the bet wins and you will be paid in a two part process.

The first payment will come to you shortly after the final whistle and this will appear as cash, based on Ladbrokes’ standard market price for an anytime Messi goal. You will then be topped up to the 40/1 price boost by a series of free bet tokens and these will land within 24 hours.

Alternatively, there is a consolation as part of this deal so, if the bet fails, you can expect to receive a free bet token worth £5.00.

Please note that any tokens you do receive must be used within 4 days or they will expire and while that completes a full round up of the significant points, you are free to check all terms at the Ladbrokes offers page if you prefer.

What are The Chances?

Lionel Messi warmed up for the World Cup with a hat trick against Haiti but he couldn’t find the net in the opening matches of Russia 2018. However, the stats showed that the Argentina forward had 12 attempts on goal after two games – more than any other player at the World Cup at that point.

Finally, Messi converted against Nigeria but can he carry that form over into the France game? It’s not a certainty of course but he is the main strike threat from an Argentinian point of view and if you are happy to get behind Lionel Messi to score on Saturday in Kazan, those huge odds of 40/1 will be tough to beat.
