Scottish footballing giants Celtic have been enjoying the backing of sponsor and commercial partner Dafabet for some time now but the two parties have extended their relationship with a groundbreaking new deal.
The football club and the sportsbooks have announced that they will be involved as partners at the Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix as sponsors of the Devitt team.
Departure
The news represents an innovative departure for the football club who will be providing a ‘Celtic bike’ to the Devitt team which will be highly prominent thanks to the club crest and iconic green and white colours.
The main intention on behalf of Celtic is to develop their brand name in the Far East. That quest starts in Macau and will build in other locations for the remainder of the season. This region is seen as a key target area for all major football clubs and the GP circuit, together with Dafabet’s experience here should help the Scottish Champions to achieve their goals.
It’s an unusual arrangement but one that comes with huge potential and naturally it has been welcomed on all sides,
Amazing Brands
Head of Marketing for Devitt Insurance Tom Warsop welcomed the news by saying:
We’re thrilled to be part of the project and think the Celtic Bike looks fantastic.
The team are always looking for ways to innovate and work with amazing brands, which in turn, helps to promote Devitt as a leading bike insurance provider.
John Cruces, Head of Sponsorship and Marketing for Dafabet, added:
We’re delighted to bring together two of our partners with this project, which we believe can only benefit all concerned.
The bike looks absolutely stunning and is genuinely groundbreaking. We look forward to seeing the bike in action and wish Dominic the very best of luck.
Finally, on behalf of the football club, Gordon Kaye, Head of Business Development at Celtic, concluded:
Dafabet have once again shown what can be achieved through an innovative approach to sports partnerships.
We are delighted that the club crest will have pride of place on the Dafabet Devitt bike and we look forward to supporting Dominic and his crew as they sport the Hoops and Celtic training wear for the remainder of the race season.
Need for Stable Period
It’s been a mixed start to the new SPL season for defending champions Celtic and the club will be hoping for a positive and stable period leading up to the end of the year. They are in the semi finals of the newly established Scottish League Cup and the aim for 2019 will be to climb back up the table and to the summit of the division.
The new deal with Dafabet and Devitt won’t aid that quest in the short term but by strengthening the club’s profile, Celtic can now engage with a whole region of new fans. Funds that come in through merchandising will, in turn, help manager Brendan Rodgers to strengthen his squad and to hopefully establish their domestic domination once again. It will be fascinating to see how that turns out in the time left on this innovative deal.
