Betway are heavily involved in eSports sponsorship too so they like to diversify and that ethos has been backed up by their most recent signing – a commercial partnership with Spanish La Liga side CD Leganes.
The exact financial terms of the arrangement were not made public but we do know that the sponsorship is for two years, starting from the upcoming 2018/19 season. Under the terms of the contract, C.D. Leganes will be displaying the Betway logo on the front of their shirts and the operator will also benefit from the usual exposure that comes from pitchside advertising, as well as that provided by social media and the club’s official website.
It’s a positive deal that builds Betway’s presence across Europe and it’s one that has been welcomed by those that are directly involved.
Betway’s Anthony Werkman announced:
C.D. Leganés play in one of the most popular leagues in the world and we couldn’t be happier to be partnering with them ahead of their 2018/19 campaign.
This is yet another major deal for us as we continue to extend our reach throughout Europe. We wish the club all the best for the new season as we look to build a long and successful partnership.
Over in the C.D. Leganes camp, their President Victoria Pavon added:
The Club is always look to grow and we believe that is what we have achieved. Betway is a great company and we are very happy with the deal.
Having risen up through the divisions, C.D. Leganes are now preparing for their third consecutive season in the top flight of Spanish football. The team finished in 17th place at the end of 2017/18 campaign and while survival may have been the main aim, new manager Mauricio Pellegrino will want to improve on those efforts and steer the club further away from the drop zone.
This is a competent and workmanlike squad but it’s also one that does seem to be lacking in star names so the manager will want to harness the money from this Betway deal and use part of it to improve his playing staff.
For their part, this new sponsorship deal continues a period of growth for Betway who continue to build their brand by backing mainland European teams. The operator currently has betting partnership deals in place with the Bundesliga’s Werder Bremen as well as RSC Anderlecht in Belgium so the move into Spain was perhaps to be expected.
It’s also a well balanced deal with benefits being shared by both parties as they move on and look forward to what will hopefully be a productive two years for both Betway and C.D. Leganes.
