In a recent announcement, it’s been confirmed that Betway have now extended that agreement and the team will get the backing of the bookmaker for a further three years.
In renewing the contract until 2021, Betway did not release exact figures relating to the deal but it has been confirmed that a seven figure sum is involved. It means that the operator’s logo will continue to be seen on player clothing at tournaments across the world while the name will also be clearly visible at Ninjas in Pyjamas’ training facilities.
Extended marketing opportunities mean that Betway will also be more evident on social media channels and other digital sites relating to the team so this is a renewal and something of an improvement on the original contract.
In return, the team will receive even more financial input to help them compete in various disciplines in global tournaments. It’s clearly good news for both parties as Betway confirmed that they wish to establish something of a legacy with his NiP deal.
In welcoming the announcement, Betway’s Anthony Werkman said:
Our partnership with Ninjas in Pyjamas helped put Betway on the map as an authentic, passionate and committed supporter of esports around the world.
They are a firm favourite in the Betway sponsorship stable having demonstrated not only their skills in the arena but also their personalities behind the screen. By actively engaging with fans through our Betway esports social channels they have helped bring more people closer to the game than ever before and we are very excited about the future together.
On behalf of Ninjas in Pyjamas, CEO Hicham Chahine added:
We are delighted to have extended our partnership with Betway after a very successful couple of years. The team at Betway has been a pleasure to work with and has played a big part in our success.
We are extremely proud of what we have achieved over the last two years, and are confident we can elevate this partnership further. We are looking forward to working with Betway for the long term. #GONINJAS
Ninjas in Pyjamas also stated that Betway are the leading eSports bookmaker and while there are some who would contest that statement, they are certainly the biggest backers of the sector from within the gambling community. As such, they should build up a significant amount of goodwill from eSports bettors.
The Ninjas in Pyjamas team is one of the oldest to still play actively on the circuit. Formed in Sweden in 2000, they initially gained success by winning the Cyberathlete professional league World Championships in the following year.
These days they compete primarily in the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive division where they continue to enjoy a great deal of success. The increased financial input from Betway should help them to develop further while the operator could expect to receive support from the eSports betting community as a result so this is a contract with good balance and an even split of benefits for both sides.
