Betway Increase ESports Presence with PSG.LGD Deal

Fans and all those involved with eSports should already be very familiar with the sportsbook and casino operator Betway. The company has signed a number of commercial partnerships in the past and are known as backers of Ninjas in Pyjamas, MIBR and BIG among others.

With teams, plus leagues and other organisations on their roster, Betway are the biggest friends to eSports from among the betting community and this week, it’s been confirmed that they’ve moved to strengthen that support.

Backing the Best

eSports team Paris Saint-Germain (PSG.LGD)

In the latest announcement, Betway have been installed as the commercial sponsor of eSports team Paris Saint-Germain (PSG.LGD). It’s a respected name in the world of traditional sporting endeavour and while the length of the arrangement is unclear at this point, it is believed that the deal will be costing Betway a six-figure sum.

The contract that has been signed will see the Betway name appear on player jackets and jerseys at tournaments and other official events. The operator will also go further will the creation of special content and social media marketing to push the aims of this deal.

It’s a big move for both parties and naturally, each side is excited about the period that lies ahead.

Success

Anthony Werkman

Betway CEO Anthony Workman said in a press release:

Having already had plenty of success with sponsorship in esports already, we are very excited to have signed a new partnership with PSG.LGD.

The PSG brand is incredibly strong around the World and their involvement in eSports has already been extremely successful, notably their more recent move into DOTA 2 with LGD.

The PSG.LGD team has celebrated some early victories on the DOTA 2 circuit and we can’t wait to be part of their future success.

Betway has always aimed to be at the forefront of the esports movement, and we look forward to partnering yet another major player in the space.

In response, MD of PSG Asia Pacific Sebastien Wasels added:

We are pleased to welcome Betway to the Paris Saint-Germain family as a jersey partner of our eSports team.

The partnership between such a globally recognised brand and our club is yet another sign of the international appeal of the Paris Saint-Germain brand.

From now on, Betway and Paris Saint-Germain will shine together around the world to the rhythm of our team’s successes, starting with one of the biggest DOTA 2 events of the year this summer: The International which will take place in Shanghai in August.

Early Beginnings

The Betway brand will clearly be in evidence when PSG.LGD head to that DOTA 2 tournament in Shanghai which takes place from the 15th to the 25th of August. Last year, the team progressed to the Grand Finals before being knocked out in round 5 so clearly they are aiming to go even deeper into the competition this time.

The involvement of Betway can only help to move the team forward and this is yet another positive development for the company who is firmly behind eSports and its continuing growth.
