There are always reasons for optimism at the start of any new season and a new sponsor deal from betting company BetSid may just give Gary Bowyer the financial help he needs to produce a winning squad.
BetSid will be a new name to football fans and also to some areas of the betting community but they are hoping that their first big sponsorship deal will make an impression in English football. This is a front of shirt contract that will see the BetSid logo appear on home and away shirts for the 2018/19 season and beyond.
In fact, this is a long-term, three year deal that underlines the operator’s commitment to the League One club and it will also see them gain ongoing exposure across that period. BetSid will enjoy advertising around the Bloomfield Road Stadium, on digital channels and in the official match programme and with League One football securing additional live coverage from the TV broadcasters, that exposure is boosted significantly.
It’s a progressive deal from two ambitious parties and it’s one that has been welcomed with enthusiasm on all sides.
Managing Director of BetSid Paul Kirkby said:
Our partnership with Blackpool FC comes at an exciting time for the business, as we launch a full online betting platform, taking our leading prices and customer services to a wider national audience.
Blackpool provides us with a great opportunity to showcase our quality proposition and reach new audiences, offering punters across the country access to our winning formula that has proved so successful here in Lancashire.
On behalf of Blackpool FC, Chairwoman Natalie Christopher added:
On behalf of the club I would like to welcome BetSid on board and thank them for their support of the team.
We now look forward to building a strong relationship and hopefully starting the season with a good performance from the team at Wycombe on Saturday.
As a new entry into the crowded world of online sports betting, it’s good to see BetSid getting involved with sports sponsorship so early. This is a positive deal for them too, particularly at a time when League One football is about to enjoy a much wider coverage via Sky Sports who will be showing a number of live games from the start of the 2018/19 season.
For Blackpool, issues on and off the pitch were stabilised to an extent by a mid-table finish at the end of the previous campaign and manager Gary Bowyer will be hoping to improve on that outcome and push towards the top half. Over the three years of this contract, Blackpool’s fans and owners would be looking for a place in the League One play offs. At the very least, this historic club would expect to be playing in the Championship and that must be the ultimate goal.
Whether they get there remains to be seen but the backing of BetSid can only help and this is also a big step for a new bookmaker and one that should help them gain a following from England’s football betting community.
