BetFred Secures Huge Sponsorship of Fury v Wilder Rematch

As soon as the controversial draw decision was announced back in December 2018, fight fans have been eagerly awaiting the rematch between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder. That initial bout produced one of the greatest boxing duels of the modern era and the return promises to be even better.

The long wait is nearly at an end with the two men set to step into the ring this Saturday, February 22nd. It all takes place at the MGM Arena in Las Vegas and for leading sports betting operator BetFred, the rematch will hold special significance.

It’s been confirmed that BetFred have secured official sponsorship of the fight and the timing is perfect as the company looks to expand into a key new territory.

In response, a joint statement was issued on behalf of Top Rank Entertainment and TGB Promotions and this read:

We’re happy to have Betfred as an official sponsor for the highly anticipated Wilder vs. Fury II rematch on February 22.

This is a 50-50 fight for the heavyweight championship of the world and we’re sure that fans all around the globe will be watching to see all of the drama unfold.

BetFred are one of the oldest, most established bookmakers with a history that predates the internet by nearly three decades. Despite that, the brand always looks to move with the times and sponsorship has been a big part of its overall marketing plan.

The sportsbook has been linked with a number of leagues and sports teams from the world of football, rugby league, horse racing and more but the arrangement with the Fury / Wilder fight is one of the biggest deals landed to date. It comes at a time when the company is making significant inroads into the United States and will surely help to increase their customer base in the months that lie ahead.
