Consequently, in 2018, the meeting in question will be known as BETDAQ Chase Day and among a busy card are top events that are seen as trials for the Cheltenham Festival and the Grand National later in the year.
Individual races on the day have also been renamed and they include the Grade 2 BETDAQ Adonis Juvenile Hurdle and the Grade 3 BETDAQ Handicap Chase. In addition, during the televised portion which is being covered by ITV4, all horses wearing number two will be fitted with a Golden Saddle and if they go on to win their respective races, they will earn a £2,000 bonus for the groom.
The reason for this? It’s all part of the exchange’s Change for the Bettor campaign which has seen their commission levels dropped to 2% across the board so we can expect to see the number two featuring prominently in any BETDAQ marketing moving forward.
We are thrilled to sponsor BETDAQ Chase Day at Kempton Park and to be building our sponsorship portfolio with a return to UK Racing.
said Shane McLaughlin, Director of Exchange at the Ladbrokes Coral Group who are ultimately responsible for the BETDAQ brand.
This partnership gives us another high profile platform to spread our message and help benefit the betting community.
Speaking on behalf of Kempton Park, London Region Partnerships Manager for Jockey Club Racecourses Tony Langenegger added:
We are delighted to welcome BETDAQ as sponsors at Kempton Park for Chase Day on 24th February.
We have had a good relationship with BETDAQ over the years and are delighted to see them sponsoring a jump fixture again at Kempton Park.
While they have been absent from racecourses for two years, this isn’t BETDAQ’s only commercial partnership as the exchange are currently involved with English Football League side Charlton Athletic. However, the clear suggestion is that we might expect more of these arrangements in support of the new marketing drive and the introduction of that 2% commission rate across all available sporting markets. We’ve also seen the need for creative in these contracts too and BETDAQ have certainly followed that trend with the Golden Saddle which could put a nice bonus of £2,000 straight into a winning groom’s pocket.
It’s important for these sponsorship arrangements to stand out from the crowd and that’s certainly an interesting piece of innovation on BETDAQ’s part. It’s also a positive move at a time when sports sponsorship with gambling companies isn’t always getting the best of headlines so it was important for an operator to do more than just throw cash at an event.
They’ve been quiet for some time but hopefully this will be the start of a new sponsorship drive from BETDAQ because there is much to admire about this deal with Kempton Park and their backing of Chase Day on February 24, 2018.
