The arrangement will see Betano installed as the official betting partner for EHF Marketing GmbH which is the marketing arm for the European Handball Federation (EHF). The move is timed to coincide with the new Champions League which will begin in September and it will certainly bring important exposure to the Betano brand.
The contract will allow Betano to lift their profile in a number of ways and the most obvious of these will come via on court advertising. This will be in the form of LED advertising around the arena and via stickers on the court itself.
In addition, opportunities for marketing will also be derived from digital channels including social media outlets and the EHF official website. It’s a deal that will enable Betano to develop and make a further impression in Germany and naturally the operator is very excited about the news.
Ioannis Spanoudakis, board member of Stoiximan who own the Betano name said:
We are very proud for this two- year sponsorship agreement with EHFM, as it reinforces our strong ties with Germany and highlights the trust that BETANO has gained in the German market.
It is a great pleasure and honour for us, to be supporting one of the flagship sports events in Europe and be able to provide our innovative services for this cause.
In reply, Managing Director of EHF Marketing GmbH, David Szlezak, added:
The VELUX EHF Champions League offers an attractive platform to BETANO, especially given its focus on gaining exposure on the German market where handball enjoys huge popularity.
As official betting partner to the VELUX EHF FINAL4, the brand will also benefit from extensive opportunities to further promote its services to the 20,000 spectators on site at what has become the leading indoor sport and entertainment event on the European sports market.
Handball may not enjoy the glamour and the investment associated with football but the sport is huge in mainland Europe so this certainly represents a big coup for Betano as they look to build a customer base in Germany and beyond.
While we cannot source any confirmation as to the exact length of the contract, it has been described as a long term deal and will also take in the EHF Velux Final 4 in Cologne so we should see the name of Betano linked with German handball for some considerable time.
For the sport itself, the Champions League is the pinnacle of club competition but it needs continued input from outside sources in order to thrive. That’s why this contract with Betano is a positive one for all concerned and it will hopefully allow all parties to hit their targets over the length of the contract.
